New Winter 2026 Series: Spec C5
It's never too early to start thinking about the next series! For Winter 2026, we're switching things up. We're going high horsepower, and low tuning. The series will be the DDRS Spec C5 Cup, featuring the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (C5) '01. This car is available from the new car dealer generally and from the used car lot periodically.
A challenge with highly tuned cars is that adding power, taking away weight, adding aero, all of these things require a lot of careful tuning to get the car to handle well. That's great if you like the challenge of tuning, but it can be a huge barrier for many drivers. The Spec C5 Cup series is designed to be more accessible to all drivers, regardless of their tuning skills.
There are few modifications allowed, which makes for more of a driver's series. I think you'll like this car; it has more power than is typical for DDRS events, so it gets up and moves. More importantly, it handles well in nearly bone stock trim (for both controllers and wheels). The stock brakes mean longer braking distances which should open up some braking duels. The series specs can be found in the series regulations.
For this series we'll be bringing back the three tire compounds: Hard, Medium, and Soft. Drivers will have to use all three tire compounds during the course of the event, but it will be up to the driver to decide which tire compound to use when.
The random track selection approach seemed to work well with the K-Cup series, so we'll be using that for the Spec C5 series. The events will continue to be on Saturday nights, with the room opening at 9:30pm, and qualifying starting at 10:00pm (all times are EST, which is UTC-5).
The event dates are still TBD, but will likely span November 2025 to March 2026. We'll be shooting for one event every other weekend, but all of that will depend on the holidays and other scheduling conflicts. The first event will be a media test day, so we can all get used to the car and the tracks.
Stay tuned for more information as we get closer to the start of the series.
