Winter 2026 DDRS Spec C5 Cup Series - Round 6 Recap
After the mid-winter break, Round 6 had us at delightfully historic Monza, Italy. Track management sprang a surprise on us at the last minute, insisting on an extra fee for chicane usage. The entry fees didn't cover track rental, let alone the additional chicane fee, so we had to make do without them. This led to some interesting racing, with high speeds down the straights and heavy braking zones into the corners. The C5s were definitely pushed to their limits, and drivers had to be on their toes to avoid overshooting the corners. Despite its reputation as a "low down force track," the evenings best times were turned with a relatively high downforce setup. 🤔
Despite the challenges, everyone had a great time racing at this iconic circuit. Thanks to all who participated and made it a memorable night of DDRS racing!
Schedule Update
The DDRS Scheduling Department's original schedule for the Winter 2026 season had a glaring omission in it: Round 6.
The nine-round schedule was unveiled with ceremonial confidence, printed on glossy paper and circulated like a sacred text, right up until someone noticed the gentle but unmistakable absence of round six, a numerical pothole that sent the entire document into an existential crisis. Rounds one through five stood proudly in formation, rounds seven through nine waited patiently at the end, and between them yawned a void so profound it raised philosophical questions about time, continuity, and whether lunch had been taken too early that day. The scheduling department responded with the professional calm of people who had already stopped updating their résumés, assuring everyone that the missing round was “implied,” a bold new approach to event planning that invited participants to imagine their own activities for that segment.
The scheduler responsible has been sacked.
