Round 5: That time when things went wildly off-piste...
With MR2RAT's broken wrist, a guest driver was allowed to fill his spot. Welcome to ASGP_Frosty,
who drove to a 6th, a 2nd and a 1st, shaving PRG_MBURG420's lead in the championship by 1 point.
Plus shout-outs to kothar44 for his return to the series as a non-competitor, and Graha1275 for
his first time visit. Both ran strong, clean races. Except for an unfortunate racing incident in
race 3, Graha1275 would have netted some strong series points. And finally, the race director
wants to thank all the competitors for their flexibility in getting the event underway. While
we've been rather fortunate in avoiding most of the PlayStation/Gran Turismo network issues,
they definitely showed up in force both in qualifying and at the start of race 1.
Congratulations to normal804, PRG_MBURG420, and MR2RAT (ASGP_Frosty) for their race wins. Each gets to put yet another highly-coveted DDRS Race Winner sticker on their cars. Be sure and collect your trophies!
There was a minor change in the final points for the event. In a post-race audit of the results, it was noted that Graha1275 had not been credited with a lap lead bonus point. The results posted below reflect this correction.
The next round is a return to Japan, and the Autopolis circuit. More details to come, so be sure to check back here. The championship is getting tight, so don't miss a single heart stopping lap!
